Playwrights, the Next Generation...The 13th Annual YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL takes place at the Rose Theatre on Saturday. This festival showcases work by some of the best teenage writers in the Omaha area. Written entirely by teens, these works are filled with comedy, tragedy, hopes, fears, romance and revenge. The curtain goes up at 4:30 on Saturday in the Rose’s Hitchcock Theater. The Rose is located at 2001 Farnam Street.
Cha-Qing...The Joslyn Art Museum is presenting 250 years of splendid Chinese Art Objects in its newest exhibition: ELEGANCE OF THE QING COURT: REFLECTIONS OF A DYNASTY THROUGH ITS ART. The exhibition runs through June 8th. The display features more than 200 examples of Chinese porcelain, metalwork, lacquer, textiles, ivory and jade from the Qing Dynasty. One of the exhibit’s highlights is a rare, six-foot high, ten-foot long, carved red lacquer screen from Joslyn’s collection.
